So huh, what a week. Things suddenly kicked into hi-gear at work, and everything has been A Lot^TM. Not really complaining, all in all I'm doing good.

Bro i wanna cry, i managed to read, what, 10 pages this week?

• Dan Simmons - The Fall of Hyperion
  TFoH keeps on being like the first book: good writing and insufferable characters. And EVERY. GOD. DAMN. FEMALE. CHARACTER. keeps on boobily breasting down the stairs¹. My dude. My brother in Christ. My sweet friend. Maybe rub one out before your writing sessions. It's really grating tbh. Aside from this I'm mildly interested to see where it will go.

• Ichi the Witch [chapter 41]
  Still in post-big-fight-climax arc, but nice. Not much to say i guess, but very nice.

• Juujika no Rokunin [chapter 215]
  Lol. Lmao even. I guess we're approaching the climax. In the most underwhelming way possible.

• Make the Exorcist Fall in Love [chapter 95]
  Interesting chapter.

  Demon lord huh. Can't say I saw that coming. i wonder if it's still all in Satan's plan or if his smug ass is going to get bitten by all this.

• Chainsaw Man [chapter 208]
  I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD FUJIMOTO I WILL BE SO GODDAMN ANGRY.

• Isshou Senkin [chapter 55]
  This is basically Kengan Asura/Omega but for female MMA. So, great fights, fun plot with big conspiracies. All the good stuff.

• Ars Goetia ~ The Boy who Was Called Incompetent Uses 72 Demons to Become Unstoppable [chapter 21]
  This manga keeps on being almost good. God i want it to be good. At least it's readable.

Webcomics

• Questionable Content
  Back to Cubetown! I hope to see more of the Marten/Claire story. Fingers crossed. I like how Ahn stood her ground, but Cubetown is still my preferred storyline.

• Dumbing of Age
  Christ, it surely is escalating huh? I'm really liking this storyline, even if it keeps on dunking on poor Dorothy. The sign has been on the wall for so much time that it started to fade, but still it feels bad to see.

Listening

After last week Mike Oldfield's Discovery has ruthlessly taken residence in my ears. Goddamnit it's good. To France, Poison Arrows and Trick of the Light are such joys to listen to. Also Moonlight Shadow, which is not on the album but still gets a honorable mention.

Relistened a couple of times to Death's The Sound of Perseverance. MAAAAN this thing bangs every time. I keep on forgetting how good Flesh and the Power It Holds is past the first riff, which I seem to be unable to like.
On the topic of Death Metal, I found about this band from Rome called Exiled On Earth thanks to a friend. Last year they released VERTENEBRA, and It's really nice. Nothing innovative, mind you, but it's solid, well polished and surprisingly varied, ranging from classic Death Metal to Melodic death, to Technical Death. Good stuff.

Also listened to a couple of Zombina and the Skeletones records at work. Fun horror punk band that unexpicably kept on postponing and kept on listening only to Nobody Likes You When You're Dead. Solid band and fun listen.

I also forced my coworkers to listen to Rush and Clown Core. They still haven't murdered me yet.

Watching

Movies

Watched Midsommar by Ari Aster! Since we watched Hereditary a couple weeks before, and really liking it, I wanted to check this out. Didn't disappoint, really great atmosphere and cinematography. Plot is fine, some recurring themes from Hereditary, and some callbacks, such as the No! No! No! No! scene. Also it was really fun to watch a horror movie shot in daylight and not in the dark. Huge recommend.
